This overnight camping event is designed for LGBTQ+ families (includes guardians or youth) led by experienced naturalists. During this safe and inclusive event, we’ll help you set up camp followed by activities like fishing, paddling, or hiking, archery, bouldering and more! Evening activities may include bingo, night hikes, storybook by a fire, and of course smore’s! Families will also have access to inclusive vendors, and LGBTQ+ affirming mental health providers (including optional group discussions). Dinner and breakfast will be provided. You may also optionally rent a tent for this event for $5 each. Program brought to you in collaboration with the City of West Des Moines Parks and Recreation.
Forest Bathing with Intertwined Iowa will be one of the optional activities on Sunday, September 8 from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Offered for participating families at Camp with Pride, ages 13+.
